Torres urges Liverpool to sign David Villa

Fenando Torres has today urged Liverpool to sign David Villa, reports today’s Star. The striker is currently playing in Confederations Cup and combined brilliantly with Villa in Spain’s 5-0 thrashing of New Zealand. Torres, who scored a hat trick, with Villa setting one up said: “Rafa Benitez makes the signings and I’m sure those who come will improve us,” said Torres. “If it was me I would bring David Villa. But that may not be possible. We play well together and link up so well,” said Torres. “It’s a pleasure to play with him. I don’t know if we are the best partnership in the world but we are the European champions and that is almost the same.”

This is the deal every Liverpool fan wants and the news that Villa's move to Real collapsed today, is bound to spark fresh rumours. Sadly however, with the press speculating the price ranging anywhere between £35m-£50m, the chances of the transfer happening are incredibly slim.
