Alvaro Arbeloa’s agent has added to the speculation surrounding the player by stating Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez must let the defender leave Anfield. Reported in today’s Mirror, Manuel Garcia Quilon, the Spaniard's agent, said:
"Alvaro has a year left on his current deal and Rafa Benitez knows that it's best to let him go now. The career of a football player has many stages and he is qualified to play anywhere."
The Reds boss has stated that he wants Arbeloa to stay at Liverpool “If he signs that will be good because we will have more competition." Arbeloa who is sill on international duty with Spain said earlier this week “I'll be able to think about all this by next Monday." Spain play their final game in the confederations cup for the third-place play-off against hosts South Africa today.
