Dossena wants Napoli move

Andrea Dossena's agent Roberto La Florio has revealed his client's desire to join Napoli, reports Sky Sports.

The left-back who was a £7m signing from Udinese, has struggled to make an impact as the speed and physical nature of the Premier League appeared to overwhelm the Italian international.

The defender is thought to be seeking a move back to Italy in order to re-establish himself as Marcelo Lippi's first choice left back in the national side.

The players agent Roberto La Florio insists a move to Napoli would suit all parties is and is eager to finalise a deal.

"There is the will to join Napoli. Napoli want Dossena, and should they follow him, it means they are ready to satisfy the player's exigencies," La Florio told Italian radio station Kiss Kiss.

"Now they must decide, because they may need Andrea due to Fabio Aurelio's injury. The two parts must meet to find an agreement."

As reported in LFC Alert on Friday Club president Aurelio De Laurentiis admitted he has held discussions with Rafael Benitez. "I've personally spoken with Rafa Benitez. The negotiation is ongoing," he said.
