Today’s Guardian, in their round up of transfer story’s say Rafael Benítez, will join Arsene Wenger in aiming to "convince Bordeaux to complete the signing of the magical Yoann Gourcuff from Milan and then sell him straight on to their Champions League rivals.”
Guurcuff is on a season long loan at Bordeaux from AC Milan and has scored 12 goals for the French club. He was voted the goal of the season by fans after a spectacular goal against Paris Saint-Germain in a 4–0 victory in January He was also named Ligue 1’s Player of the Year and was in the Ligue 1 Team of the Year.
The Guardian article also states that any purchase of Guurcuff may “leave enough money for Benítez to mount a rescue operation for Jonas Gutierrez.”
Gutierrez is currently playing for recently relegated Newcastle United and has the nickname "Spiderman" which he acquired during his time at Real Mallorca where he celebrated a goal by putting on a Spiderman mask.
