Alonso not for sale warn Reds

Transfer Speculation

With more Alonso transfer gossip emerging in today’s tabloids, it looks like its going to be a long summer having to deal with the same story over and over again. The only thing that’s changing is the price. Real Madrid are said to be on the verge of offering £23 million for the midfielder according to today’s Telegraph. So that means his price has upped £6 million in the past seven days. Maybe come the end of the summer a deal may be worth striking!

Real attempted to sign Alonso five years ago, with Alonso's agent - Inaki Ibanez - meeting then president Florentino Perez to hammer out a deal. Alonso is back on Perez’s radar should he win the presidential election on June 17. However Liverpool have moved to dismiss the gossip by stating Alonso is not up for grabs, with a spokesman saying: "There has been no contact, the player is not for sale"
