Kohlert signing moves closer

Liverpool are on the verge of signing Danish starlet Nikolaj Kohlert, according to the player's agent, reports Sky Sports.

The Esbjergs midfielder enjoyed a trial with the Reds earlier this year and the club have moved quickly to line up a deal for Kohlert who will continue his footballing education with the club's academy. Kohlert's agent, Allan Nielsen, says only personal terms need to be agreed before the deal can be finalised.

"I can say as much as there will be a meeting in Liverpool today. The only thing remaining is the personal contract," said Nielsen.

"I see no immediate problems in the clubs agreeing. There should be no problems at all but last but not least, it will be up to Esbjerg. But I am sure this will be no problem."

"This is a fantastic opportunity for a 16-year-old. He is ready both as a person and as a footballer. He will probably start in the academy on a scholarship before he turns 17."
"After that it will be the reserve team and then he will get a professional contract for three years with an additional option for Liverpool."

"It is a really really good contract. All that's remaining now is to get the details in place today."

LFC Alert reported upon the story earlier in the month, with the young player admitting: "It is a huge boyhood dream. Liverpool is one of the greatest clubs and I cannot think of a better framework for my development. I am extremely happy."

Danish Youngster Kohlert joins Reds

“Esbjerg youngster Nikolaj Kohlert is confident he will soon complete his 'dream' move to Liverpool on a three-year contract” report Sky Sports.

The 16-year-old claims his Danish club have “agreed a deal with the Reds” and “he now only needs to discuss terms before joining the Premier League giants' Academy.”
Kohlert admits he is desperate to move to Anfield so he can continue his development.

He told bold.dk: "It is reasonably close. The clubs have agreed and we need to negotiate my own terms. We have not seen the contract yet, but the starting point is a three-year contract with the option for an additional year.”
